Job summary

Physicians Pavilion Surgery Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PACU Nurse for PRN shifts in Smyrna, Tennessee. You will care for patients postoperatively, ensuring safety and comfort until discharge, in a center that values compassionate, family-like care.

Requirements include an RN license, 1+ year of nursing experience, and certifications (BCLS, ACLS, PALS as required). The role supports a comprehensive benefits program and opportunities within a leading healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher required.
• 1+ year of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably PACU/ICU/Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare your patients’ care area and ensure equipment and supplies are provided.
• Demonstrate airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform and document head-to-toe evaluations using an approved scoring system.
• Check dressings or operative sites and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and family.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
