Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to float between Aurora and Centennial campuses. The role involves administering chemotherapy and other medications, documenting care, and coordinating with physicians to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Minimum two years nursing experience with oncology background preferred; BSN is preferred and an active RN license with BLS is required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • RN license in practicing state and BLS certification.
  • Oncology nursing experience preferred.
  • PRN position; ability to float between Aurora and Centennial campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Administers chemotherapy, hydration and other medications under physician supervision.
  • Maintains knowledge of chemotherapy charge forms and ensures proper documentation.
  • Obtains pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms prior to therapy.
  • Operates ambulatory infusion pumps and documents pump usage and maintenance.
  • Assesses patient and labs; modifies dose per protocol with physician input.
  • Performs venipuncture and central line care; manages infusion devices.
  • Delivers medications with correct dosage, route and timing; provides instructions.
  • Documents nursing assessments and teaching in patient charts; communicates with physicians.
  • Triages patient calls and records relevant information in charts; addresses patient/family needs.
