Job summary

Visiting Angels of Jasper is seeking a PRN/On-Call Caregiver to support seniors in homes across the Jasper area. The role requires open availability to cover shifts as needed, with duties including personal care, light housekeeping, mobility support, and medication reminders. Training in First Aid is preferred, and a background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Reliable transportation to client visits is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.

A Visiting Angels PRN/On Call Caregiver wears many hats as they help our elderly and home-care clients stay at home or recover at home with dignity.

While no two client visits look exactly alike, responsibilities may include:

• Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation - this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks

A PRN/On CallCaregiver must also be prepared to act quickly in the case of medical emergencies. This includes adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances. Our caregivers possess the ideal blend of competency, compassion, and professional discernment.
