Job summary

Franklin Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in El Paso, TX, is seeking a compassionate Per Diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our in-house rehab team. You will plan and administer OT treatments under supervision, promote independence, and support residents and families with tailored care plans.

The ideal candidate holds a TX OTA license, a COTA credential, and prior SNF experience. Net Health EHR familiarity and strong teamwork are preferred for this PRN role.

Qualifications

• Active and valid Texas OTA license.
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required.
• In good standing with licensing boards.
• SNF or long-term care experience preferred.
• Current knowledge of occupational therapy treatment practices.
• Experience with Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred.
• Ability to manage patients with varying personalities and needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer occupational therapy treatments to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
• Provide skilled occupational therapy services and interventions under supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Respond to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Occupational Therapist.
• Ensure all treatments are delivered in accordance with the established plan of care.
• Provide clinical support and instruction to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Monitor patient response to treatment interventions and report changes as appropriate.
• Complete required documentation thoroughly and timely in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations.
• Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab.
