Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management in Ashland, OH seeks an Occupational Therapist to guide patients through rehabilitation activities, evaluate progress, and tailor treatment plans to restore function and promote health.

You will educate families, participate in discharge planning, and collaborate with the care team to support diverse patient needs across age groups on an outpatient basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and develop an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient\'s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum.
• Provide and implement effective treatment techniques in a competent manner.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on applicable health information, treatment, and prevention.
• Initiate and participate in discharge planning.
• Perform other department activities such as documentation, billing, and support of department operations.
• Provide evaluation and treatment skills appropriate to the developmental and chronological age of patients on caseload.
• Demonstrate professional initiative, objectivity, good time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Be physically, cognitively, and perceptually able to provide patient treatment and assist in mobility of patients and equipment.

Overview

Organizes and conducts Occupational Therapy programs to facilitate the rehabilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. The Occupational Therapist directs the patient\'s participation in selected activities and treatments to restore, reinforce, and correct pathology to promote and/or maintain health.
