Job description

Job Title: Nursing Technician I

The Nursing Technician I supports the Registered Nurse by observing and documenting patient conditions. Working under close supervision, this role assists with patient support through progressive mobility and assistance with daily tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and mobility to aid recovery and care plans.
  2. Assess patients’ quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination to allocate resources and anticipate needs.
  3. Admit, transfer, and discharge patients to appropriate locations as per care plans.
  4. Assist with clinical procedures such as monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, obtaining EKGs, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs.
  5. Maintain unit inventories of supplies and equipment to ensure a safe environment, adhering to safety standards.
  6. Ensure fall-risk patients have appropriate identification and safety signage.
  7. Document all clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use for accurate patient records.
  8. Respond promptly to delegation from registered nurses and share patient observations for effective collaboration.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned or reasonably required.
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Experience: None (Required)
Licensure/Certification:
  • Certification as required by the North Carolina DHHR
  • Nurse Aide Certification
  • BLS (CPR) from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
