Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide compassionate care for our veterans. The team operates with a mission mindset, and nurses are paid hourly with rates shown below.

RN hourly pay is $33.65 and LPN hourly pay is $22.44. A current MO nursing license is required; new graduates may practice as graduate nurses until licensure results are received or 90 days after graduation. No benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri, in good standing.
• A recent graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift on assigned unit
• Assess needs of Veterans and ensures services are consistent with needs
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plan according to healthcare protocol
• Make rounds with the physician, inform of status of patients and receive instructions for care and treatment
• Transcribe and implement physician’s orders accurately
• Document accurately all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in electronic medical record (EMR)
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician accurately with follow-up observations
• Assist Veteran with various needs such as transferring, positioning, transporting, feeding, promoting elimination, toileting, bathing and showering, etc.
• Assist Veteran upon admission and/or discharge
• Participate in orientation of unit staff
