Job summary

College Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to join our behavioral health team. You will assess adults and elderly patients, develop care plans, administer medications, and advocate for patient well-being in a collaborative setting.

This role requires a current RN license, BLS, CPI within 30 days, and a commitment to safety and compassionate care. Night shift availability offers a dynamic environment and opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or ability to obtain
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required
• CPI certification within 30 days of hire
• Knowledge of growth and development for age-appropriate care
• Accurate documentation in accordance with standards

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor adverse reactions
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavioral management
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and continuing care
• Monitor and record patients’ physical and emotional status, reporting any significant changes
• Ensure the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment
• Participate in daily shift reports and interdisciplinary team meetings
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines at all times

Job Qualifications

• A Level One Fingerprint Card is required
• Current RN license and AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required upon hire
• CPI Certification required within 30 days of hire
• Knowledge of growth and development principles, with the ability to assess, interpret data, determine patient care needs, and deliver age-appropriate care
• Understanding of the legal aspects of nursing and the importance of accurate, timely documentation according to standards, policies, and procedures

Job-Specific Duties

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavioral management per facility protocols
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and continuing care
• Monitor and record patients’ physical and emotional status, reporting any significant changes
• Ensure the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CMC Phoenix roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CMC Phoenix in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
