Job summary

Belton Regional Medical Center seeks a Laboratory Assistant PRN to receive and process specimens and perform basic lab procedures, along with clerical tasks such as greeting patients, answering phones, and maintaining records.

The role involves labeling, preparing specimens for analysis, routing to staging areas, data entry, and phlebotomy draws across all ages, with a focus on night shifts and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification by ASCP and/or NCA is highly desirable.
• Experience in a hospital laboratory is preferred.
• Approximately one year in hospital phlebotomy is preferred.
• PRN weekend night shift availability (Fri-Sun, 6pm-6am) is required.
• MINIMUM 10+ draws per hour to meet hospital needs.

Responsibilities

• Identify and label specimens accurately.
• Prepare specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to staging areas.
• Process paperwork for submitted specimens.
• Enter patient information data accurately.
• Perform draws on Neonatal, Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric patients.
