Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Perform Carotid Ultrasound, Transcranial Doppler studies, and emboli detection with high technical and professional competence.
  • Explain procedures to patients, perform studies, recognize artifacts, calibrate equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and provide technical descriptions of studies.
  • Maintain knowledge of neuro-anatomy, physiology, electronics, and medical conditions affecting vascular studies.
  • Verify patient and physician information, gather appropriate history, and ensure equipment functionality.
  • Provide initial interpretation of results and communicate urgent findings to physicians.
  • Assist with special studies, train other technologists, and participate in conferences and meetings.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and ensure billing accuracy.
Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma/GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited vascular program or 2+ years vascular lab experience required.
  • BCLS certification required.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) preferred.
