Job summary

OSF HealthCare in Danville, Illinois, is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for PRN shifts including 24-hour coverage. Responsibilities include management of high-risk infants in a Level II Intermediate Care Nursery, performing invasive monitoring, and newborn resuscitation for high-risk deliveries.

This role requires an active Illinois license and board certification in Neonatology. Competitive hourly pay ranges from $64.61 to $78.83 based on experience, with limited benefits available.

Qualifications

  • Hold an active Illinois license as either an Advanced Practice Nurse or a Physician Assistant.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Neonatology Advanced Practice Provider.
  • Prior experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.

  • Manage premature and high-risk infants in Level II Intermediate Care Nursery.
  • Perform bedside invasive and non-invasive monitoring.
  • Assist with transport of critical infants.

Job description

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or PA needed PRN to pick up 24 hr. shifts in eastern Illinois - all days of the week Monday-Sunday.

  • Level II Intermediate Care Nursery at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center.
  • Management of premature and high-risk infants including bedside invasive and non-invasive monitoring, conventional and high-frequency ventilation, and surgery in multiple specialties, including cardiac and neurology.
  • Opportunity to perform procedures such as intubation, thoracentesis, PICC, arterial and umbilical lines as well as newborn resuscitation for all high‑risk deliveries.
  • Additional opportunities to assist with transport of critical infants and to rotate to Level II nurseries in the OSF Health Care System.
Required Qualifications
  • Holds an active Illinois license as either an Advanced Practice Nurse (per Illinois Nurse Practice Act), or a Physician Assistant (per Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987).
  • Demonstrated experience as a Neonatology Advanced Practice Provider.
  • Board Certified as either a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant/Physician Associate.
  • Licensed by both the DEA and the State of Illinois to prescribe controlled substances.
  • BLS/ALS certification required.
  • Prior experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.

Expected pay for this position is $64.61 - $78.83/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly, as‑needed (PRN) position which may offer limited benefits.
