Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a MR Technologist - PRN to operate MRI scanners and deliver high-quality patient-centered imaging services. You will screen patients, position for scans, and perform both routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision.

The role requires ARRT certification, state licensure if applicable, CPR, and the ability to work independently. This PRN position supports flexible shifts, with daily Pay available for qualifying periods.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA approved radiography program.
  • ARRT certification current and in good standing as per state regulations.
  • Licensure as Radiologic Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Competent to perform MRI procedures independently.
  • Certification in imaging specialty is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned MRI scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images.
  • Screen and prepare patients, explain procedures, and position for imaging.
  • Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Adjust MRI parameters and follow physician orders accurately.
  • Maintain patient records in RIS and ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Keep equipment clean, disinfected, and in good working order.
  • Maintain accreditation requirements and stay updated with imaging protocols.
  • Assist with protocol manuals and software upgrades as needed.
  • Support training of new team members when required.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a MR Technologist - PRN to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a MR Technologist - PRN, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

This is a temporary/PRN position working varied shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
  1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  2. Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned
  3. Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  4. Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
  5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
  7. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
  8. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
(5%) MRI Department Support
  1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  3. Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

  1. High School diploma, or equivalent
  2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  3. ARRT current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need
  4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently
  7. Certification in imaging specialty
