Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Per Diem MR Technologist to operate MRI scanners and deliver high-quality imaging services. You will screen and prepare patients, position them for scans, and perform routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety compliance, and keeping accurate records. Weekend and evening shifts are required, with opportunities to contribute to protocol updates and team training.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiography.
  • ARRT or ARMRIT registration in good standing, depending on state regulations.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to perform MRI procedures independently.

Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI scanner to produce diagnostic images.
  • Screen and prepare patients, explain procedures, and position for scans.
  • Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Adjust MRI parameters and follow physician orders.
  • Maintain patient records in RIS and ensure equipment safety.
  • Keep work area clean and maintain equipment per accreditation standards.
  • Assist with imaging protocol updates and equipment software upgrades.
  • Train new team members as needed.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Per Diem MR Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a MR Technologist, you will be responsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.



This is a per diem position working weekends and evening shifts.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


(90%) Patient MRI Imaging



  1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure

  2. Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned

  3. Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure

  4. Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed

  5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)

  6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members

  7. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use

  8. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements


(5%) MRI Department Support



  1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades

  2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary

  3. Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable


(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned


Required:



  1. High School diploma, or equivalent

  2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography

  3. ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need

  4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable

  5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

  6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently

  7. Certification in imaging specialty
