Job summary

HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services seeks a Medical Technologist to perform accurate and timely laboratory testing and manage associated documentation. You will respond to stat procedures, interpret results, and ensure quality control across core chemistry, hematology, serology, blood bank, and microbiology areas.

Requirements include a Florida technologist license (or ability to obtain), 1 year of MT experience preferred, and degrees in Medical Technology or related fields.

Qualifications

• Requires an eligible Florida Technologist License or ability to obtain license during interview.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist preferred.
• Generalist with multi-disciplinary strengths in clinical laboratory testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples.
• Assume department responsibility in the supervisor's absence.
• Complete all records and documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround times.
• Use good judgment in correlating and interpreting patient results (including delta checks).
• Review pending logs and result logs; inform staff if workload is outstanding.
• Perform quality control procedures and handle all problem or critical specimens.
