Job summary

Wesley Woodlawn Hospital & ER, part of the HCA Healthcare network, seeks a Medical Technologist for PRN shifts in Wichita, Kansas. You will perform high-complexity lab tests, ensure quality control, document results, and report findings to caregivers. You will collect specimens and maintain equipment per procedures.

Required: ASCP or CAHEA-equivalent certification within six months of hire, and a BS in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity laboratory test procedures per written procedures and report results to caregivers.
• Evaluate test results for acceptability using quality control and patient factors.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of results.
• Document work activities and report results using clerical/computer systems.
• Obtain specimens by venipuncture, heel stick, or other methods as needed.
• Perform quality control, calibration, and maintenance per procedures.
• Train new staff and present in-service education as requested.
• Handle hazardous chemicals and waste per protocol.
