Job summary

University Cancer & Blood Center in Athens, GA is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team. The MLT, MLS or MT reports to the Lab Manager and processes diverse specimens, reviews results, and maintains instrumentation.

The position involves testing proficiency, adherence to CLIA and specialty guidelines, and collaboration with a skilled team to deliver accurate results in a patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in all areas of testing in the department.
• Hematology and Chemistry knowledge preferred.
• Independently perform complex clinical tests following department procedures.
• Ensure prompt and accurate test results with proper documentation.
• Report quality results with limited errors.
• Troubleshoot all applicable instruments in the department.
• Provide guidance or oversight of unlicensed staff as required.
• Familiar with CLIA requirements and specialty requirements.
