University Cancer & Blood Center in Athens, GA is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team. The MLT, MLS or MT reports to the Lab Manager and processes diverse specimens, reviews results, and maintains instrumentation.

• Ensure prompt and accurate test results with proper documentation.
• Report quality results with limited errors.
• Troubleshoot all applicable instruments in the department.
• Provide guidance or oversight of unlicensed staff as required.
• Familiar with CLIA requirements and specialty requirements.

Job Description: University Cancer & Blood Center is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team! The Medical Lab Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist, or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) reports to the Lab Manager and processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens; reviews and reports lab results; performs operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment; acts as resource as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities Must demonstrate proficiency in all areas of testing in the department.
• Preferred Hematology and Chemisty
• Consistently and independently performs the more complex level clinical tests by following department procedures
• Assumes initiative for prompt, accurate performance of test results with appropriate documentation of results.
• Reports quality results with limited errors.
• Proficient in troubleshooting all applicable instruments in the department.
• Provide guidance or oversight of unlicensed staff, as required.
• Must be familiar with CLIA requirements and knowledgeable with the specialty requirements within those organizations.
