Qualifications

• Requires MLS/Medical Laboratory Science degree and CLIA qualifications.
• Certification as MLT/MLS or equivalent (ASCP/AMT/NCA) is expected.
• No experience required if certified or eligible to take national exam; 2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complies with Laboratory and Blood Bank policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintains instruments and performs scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing.
• Performs QC and investigates out-of-control results.
• Coordinates referrals for tests to outside laboratories.
• Participates in continuing education and in-services.
