Responsibilities:

• Perform clinical testing, quality control, and maintenance independently following established guidelines.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems affecting test performance and results.
• Consult with colleagues and supervisors as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Perform clinical testing across various complexities to provide accurate diagnostic information.
• Manage specimen collection, transport, storage, and processing to ensure integrity.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Analyze quality control data and maintain test accuracy.

Education:

• Associate degree in a science-related field and completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program.
• Military education and experience considered if full laboratory training and experience are met.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from ASCP or equivalent.
• Candidates in the process of certification must complete the exam within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of laboratory computer systems and mandatory training in child and dependent adult abuse reporting.
