Job summary

Munising Memorial Hospital & Bay Care Clinic is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for a PRN varied shift. The MLT performs routine testing, specimen collection, quality control, and reporting in a compliant, patient-centered lab.

The role requires accuracy, safety, HIPAA awareness, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. On-call duties may be required to maintain emergency coverage.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent; enrolled in CLS/MLT program or eligible for MLT certification.
• License eligible upon completion and state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine laboratory testing and reports results accurately.
• Collects, labels, processes, and prepares specimens for testing.
• Maintains instrument calibration, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance.
• Performs quality control and documents results per policy.
• Maintains complete laboratory records and confidentiality.
• Offers instruction to students and new staff as needed.
• Performs on-call duties to support emergency coverage.
