Job description

PRN Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - UH2 Women's Care Clinic

Join us at University Health KC as a PRN Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the UH2 Women's Care Clinic.

This position is part-time, located at 101 Truman Medical Center in Lees Summit, Missouri, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 4 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by checking vital signs and updating charts.
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and assist with minor procedures such as wound care and suture removal.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Support healthcare providers and participate in team activities.
  • Educate patients about their care plans and medications.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NRCMA, or CCMA); certification must be maintained.
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain before starting.
  • Knowledge of POCT, immunizations, and injections.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and EMR systems.
  • Radiology certification if X-ray functions are required.
For LPN Candidates
  • Graduate from an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
  • Current LPN license in Missouri.
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
