Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Oxford, NC is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant (PRN) to support on-site providers with patient intake, triage and clinical tasks. The role includes assisting during exams, documenting vitals, and maintaining exam rooms.

Flexible PRN shifts with travel between clinics may be available. This position begins at $15/hr and requires a High School diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant experience is beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) preferred.
• Medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Provider(s) in patient intake, assessment, treatment and discharge.
• Triage patients promptly following clinic procedures.
• Document vitals, weight and updates to medical history prior to visits.
• Perform lab tests in line with guidelines and provider instructions.
• Manage electronic medical records and support paper-to-electronic transitions.
• Prepare examination rooms, maintain cleanliness and readiness.
• Administer medications under provider supervision.
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
• Position patients for x-rays per provider directions.
• Help monitor and manage medical inventory.

Skills
