Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Shelby, NC is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant (PRN) to support on-site clinicians with patient intake, triage, and care coordination. You’ll help with examinations, procedures, and medical record updates in a fast-paced urgent/primary care setting.

The role is ideal for candidates with strong communication skills, basic medical office experience, and a willingness to travel to other clinics as needed. Clinical support tasks and a flexible PRN schedule are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Prior Medical Assisting experience or education is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist on-site provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge.
• Triage patients promptly and maintain clinic workflow.
• Document vital signs and updates to medical history.
• Perform lab tests per guidelines and provider instructions.
• Manage digital patient records and support EHR transition.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness.
• Administer prescribed medications under supervision.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Position patients for x-rays as directed.
• Help monitor and manage medical inventory.
