Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. in LaGrange, KY is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to support BHMG Occupational Medicine. You will coordinate direct patient care activities and provide clinical support to providers in a busy outpatient clinic.

Duties include checking in patients, obtaining vital signs, recording histories, medication reconciliation, and navigating the EPIC EMR system. You will communicate with pharmacies, insurers, patients and physicians while upholding Baptist’s mission and core

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting.
• Hands-on patient care including vitals, documenting patient history and medications.
• Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on patient experience.
• Clinical competency assessment and MA orientation upon hire; trainee program if standards not met.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience a plus.
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
• BAT and DOT certifications required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients, obtaining vital signs & medication reconciliation.
• Collect patient medical history information.
• Navigate electronic health record system (EPIC).
• Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients and physicians and uphold Baptist’s mission and core values.
