Job summary

Inova Health Cardiology in Arlington seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant 1 for a PRN, day shift (Monday–Friday) position. You will support patient flow, basic clinical tasks, and clerical duties in a fast-paced cardiology clinic.

The role emphasizes teamwork, preparation for exams, and adherence to safety protocols. Education at least a high school diploma and BLS within 6 months are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a medical group practice preferred.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care including scheduling, patient flow, and vital signs.
• Assists with exam and procedures and prepares patients for visits.
• Handles clerical tasks such as medical records, forms, and referrals.
• Assists with phlebotomy, injections, and specimen handling.
• Maintains clean and stocked exam/procedure rooms and proper sterile technique.
• Supports quality improvement efforts and daily clinic operations.
