Conviva Senior Primary Care, part of Humana, seeks a Medical Assistant to join the Clinical Care Team. The MA will support patient care and administrative duties, assist physicians, and help maintain high-quality patient engagement in a primary care setting.

The role requires MA training or CMA/RMA certification, CPR, and TB screening. Experience with HEDIS, Stars measures, and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or CMA/RMA; 5+ years experience with provider approval
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certification
  • TB screening required due to TB program

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
  • Manage the provider's schedule to ensure efficient workflow
  • Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
  • Room patients and assist clinicians with procedures and treatments
  • Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing
  • Prepare and administer medications under direction
  • Document accurately in EHR/EMR, including HEDIS/Stars measures
  • Maintain established quality control standards
  • Utilize skills to positively impact patient care

The Medical Assistant is the first point of contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative duties in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

This is a pro re nata/float position that will work out of up to 9 locations.

As a Medical Assistant , you will be a part of the Clinical Care Team engaging with our patients to develop lifelong well-being and health. The Medical Assistant role makes a difference in the patient care we offer and assists physicians and other clinicians by providing a unique blend of skills and knowledge to carry out prescribed medical treatment. Medical Assistants are multiskilled health professionals responsible for performing administrative and clinical tasks in our primary care facilities while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining positive patient engagement.

Job Functions
  • Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
  • Manage the provider's schedule to ensure efficient workflow
  • Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
  • Room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
  • Perform specimen collection and point of care testing
  • Prepare and administer medications under direction of healthcare providers
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures
  • Maintain established quality control standards

Required
  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certified
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB
Preferred
  • Certified or Registered - (Arizona, Indiana, & South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)
  • Phlebotomy experience- Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • 1+ years MA experience
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication

$43,000 - $56,200 per year
