Job summary

Blue Ridge Health in Brevard, NC seeks a PRN Medical Assistant or LPN to join our team. We will train you and provide opportunities for salary and career advancement.

This entry-level role offers $20.50 per hour, a $1000 sign-on after 90 days, and a 403(b) retirement plan with company matching. You will work in a fast-paced clinic providing direct patient care and support to an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and standard documentation.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• MA certification or RM A preferred; certification must be obtained within 18 months if not currently certified.
• LPN licensure in NC preferred; license renewal may be paid by BRH.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with delivering direct patient care.
• Obtain and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, etc.).
• Perform basic procedures such as blood draws and EKGs.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
• Document patient information in EHR systems.
• Answer phones and relay information to providers.
• Adhere to HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Contribute to a positive, cooperative team environment.

What You'll Do:

As a Medical Assistant or LPN you will be an integral member of the BRH medical team assisting with the direct care of patients and clinic activities. We are looking for a team player that can help build a positive environment with a desire to work in an interdisciplinary healthcare team and with a culturally diverse patient population. Responsibilities include:

• Working in a fast-paced medical office setting
• Assisting providers with delivering quality patient care
• Obtaining and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.)
• Performing basic medical procedures such as blood draws and EKGs
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
• Recording patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Answering phones, responding to inquiries, and relaying information to providers
• Adhering to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
• Contributing to a positive and cooperative team environment

What We're Looking For:

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medical documentation preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registered Medical Assistant preferred– Must obtain certification within 18 months of hire date if not currently certified (We can help you get it – ask us how!)
• Licensed Practical Nurses – NC licensure preferred (we will pay for your license renewal!)
• Medical phone triage experience preferred
• Ability to float between nearby clinical sites as needed
• Bi-Lingual (preferred, but not required – we pay extra per hour for your language skills)
