Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our team on a PRN (as needed) basis. You will operate mammography equipment, educate patients, and ensure safety and quality of imaging across shifts.

Minimum qualifications include ARRT certification with Mammography credential, state licensure, and BLS certification. A 40-hour mammography training requirement is also specified. You may float to other Cleveland Clinic locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT RT(R) in good standing with mammography credential.
• Current state licensure required prior to employment.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• 40 hours of mammography training completed.

Responsibilities

• Review mammography requisition and computer exam forms to determine the type of exam required.
• Position patients, set exposure factors, and operate mammography equipment to obtain high-quality images.
• Review images for quality and need for additional images.
• Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and the exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during and after the exam.
• Acquire, archive, transmit, and print images via CAD and PACS.
• Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
• Report malfunctions to help desk and PACS Administrator.
• Process billing via RIS.
• Assist with policies, procedures and compliance with regulatory bodies.
• Assist with calibration and records for QA requirements.
• Perform equipment checks and notify clinical engineering of malfunctions.
• Maintain exam rooms with supplies.
• Provide teaching and mentoring to new hires and students.
• Rotate through modalities, sites, and locations.
