Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Psychologist (PRN) to join our mental health team in an institutional setting. The role involves conducting psychological screenings and assessments, developing and modifying treatment plans, and providing counseling as part of a coordinated care approach for inmates.

The position runs up to 30 hours per week and requires a Doctoral degree in Psychology, a current license to practice in the state, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state.
• Two years of clinical experience, including one year in a comparable position.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum age of 18.

Responsibilities

• Conducts psychological screenings and assessments of inmates based on records and interviews.
• Develops and implements individual treatment plans.
• Makes rounds to assess inmate adjustment and mental health needs.
• Provides mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions.
• Collaborates with psychiatry, nursing, and other staff to address escalation of problems.
