JOB SUMMARY: Provide PRN Laboratory Aide/Phlebotomy services for the Clinton Service Unit, including the Clinton Indian Health Center, El Reno Indian Health Center, Watonga Indian Health Center, MMU, or outreach community events.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Participate in Performance Improvement activities, GPRA, and Infection Control.


• Use RPMS lab package and Electronic Health Record.


• Identify patients by name and date of birth when labs are ordered, in compliance with Joint Commission requirements.


• Review or create laboratory draw orders in the Electronic Health Record/RPMS based on patient identification.


• Accession test orders and create notes in the EHR as needed, including scanning outside laboratory orders.


• Obtain specimens, including venipuncture and capillary draws.


• Process and analyze samples such as blood, urine, stool, sputum, nasal, and nasopharyngeal specimens.


• Label samples in front of the patient with all required information, following Joint Commission guidelines.


• Package samples properly for courier transport.


• Transport specimens to the laboratory for processing.


• Restock supplies as needed throughout the day and after shifts.


• Perform waived testing and release results, excluding critical or abnormal moderate complexity test results.


• Assist with troubleshooting and repeating tests as required.


• Follow all policies and procedures related to job duties.


• Complete required training within specified timeframes.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Background check required.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

• Public Trust clearance required.
