JOB SUMMARY: Provide PRN Laboratory Aide/Phlebotomy services for the Clinton Service Unit, including the Clinton Indian Health Center, El Reno Indian Health Center, Watonga Indian Health Center, MMU, or outreach community events.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Participate in Performance Improvement activities, GPRA, and Infection Control.
- Use RPMS lab package and Electronic Health Record.
- Identify patients by name and date of birth when labs are ordered, in compliance with Joint Commission requirements.
- Review or create laboratory draw orders in the Electronic Health Record/RPMS based on patient identification.
- Accession test orders and create notes in the EHR as needed, including scanning outside laboratory orders.
- Obtain specimens, including venipuncture and capillary draws.
- Process and analyze samples such as blood, urine, stool, sputum, nasal, and nasopharyngeal specimens.
- Label samples in front of the patient with all required information, following Joint Commission guidelines.
- Package samples properly for courier transport.
- Transport specimens to the laboratory for processing.
- Restock supplies as needed throughout the day and after shifts.
- Perform waived testing and release results, excluding critical or abnormal moderate complexity test results.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repeating tests as required.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to job duties.
- Complete required training within specified timeframes.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Background check required.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
- Public Trust clearance required.
