Mercyhealth laboratory seeks a reliable Laboratory Assistant (PRN) to collect samples, run waived and moderate complexity tests, and ensure accurate reporting. The role requires attention to sample integrity, timely results, and adherence to quality control procedures within a hospital setting.

The position may require shift work, weekends or holidays as needed, with on-site duties at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL. PRN schedule and variable shifts provide flexible coverage.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred and appropriate training/experience.
• Associate’s degree or higher in chemical, physical, or biological sciences or medical laboratory science preferred.

Mansioni

• Receive patients, order and collect samples, and report results.
• Confirm sample ID accuracy and assess specimen quality before analysis.
• Perform waived and moderate complexity lab tests per CLIA guidelines.
• Maintain quality control documentation and prepare reports for operations.
