Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital seeks a PRN Abdominal Transplant Surgeon to join our transplant program in Norfolk, Virginia. This role supports the team on First (Days) shifts, contributing to kidney, pancreas and multi-organ transplantation efforts.

Join two experienced abdominal transplant surgeons, with 3-5 years of practice required. The program offers opportunities for clinical/research activity, education of medical students and residents, and a supportive, physician-led environment

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited American Board of Surgery general surgery residency program and an ASTS-approved fellowship in solid organ transplantation
• Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in Virginia
• Experience or training in living donor nephrectomies and kidney transplantation; interest in living donor kidney transplantation

Responsibilities

• Join a team of two experienced Abdominal Transplant surgeons to facilitate program growth and development
• 3-5 years of experience preferred; participation in clinical and translational research
• Education of medical students and residents is expected
