Job summary

Advocate Health in Cabarrus County seeks an Interventional Radiology Technologist to support invasive angiographic procedures in the IR suite. You will perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopy under physician supervision and ensure patient safety throughout the procedure.

The role requires ARRT certification or eligibility, RTR, and BLS, with 1 year in diagnostic and interventional radiology preferred. This PRN position offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technologist Program required.
• RTR certification required.
• BLS required per policy.
• 1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage under physician supervision.
• Explains the procedure to the patient and preps the patient for the procedure.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, technologist, or nurse.
• Circulates during the procedure and maintains patient comfort.
• Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
• Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
• Provides necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
• Records hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately.
• Enters patient data and sends films for review.
• Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.
