Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a food service cook to prepare patient, retail, and catering meals in a high-volume setting. You will follow production records, manage prep tasks, and ensure food safety and quality while maintaining a clean kitchen.

The role requires reading and following recipes, English communication, and physical ability; Spanish bilingualism and ServeSafe certification are preferred. This is a faith-based health care environment with benefits beginning on day one.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate in English well to effectively communicate and interact with internal and external customers.
• Ability to follow, read and write recipes as needed.
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
• Physical ability to perform designated job.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient, retail, and catering meals by following culinary production records, including short-order and batch cooking to ensure quality and temperature standards.
• Execute advance prep tasks by reviewing pull sheets and organizing ingredients for upcoming service periods and high-volume production needs.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment and surfaces meet health standards and recording temperatures according to regulatory requirements.
• Manage inventory by sorting, labeling, dating, and rotating stock to support food safety and minimize waste.
• Collaborate with managers and team members to meet operational goals, communicate needs, and support efficient food service delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
