Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Home and Community-Based Services Aide provides support, assistance with personal hygiene, and household tasks to help individuals remain in their own homes.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, hair care, denture and nail care, skin care, and transfers (bed to chair, wheelchair, toilet, bedpan, or commode)
• Report observations of the client's condition to the agency director or manager
• Drive safely, adhere to traffic laws, and wear a seat belt when traveling for work
• Help with household tasks essential to the client's personal care

Education and Experience

Preferred Experience

• Six months of home care experience preferred
• Successful completion of a competency evaluation

License Requirements

• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, access to a reliable vehicle or public transportation
• Current CPR certification

State-Specific Requirements

• KY, OH, MO, NC: No additional requirements

Skill Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours based on client needs
• Ability to work independently in diverse home situations
• Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
