Qualifications

• One year of reception experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Insurance verification experience preferred.
• Prior authorization experience preferred.
• Equivalent education and experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• General computer proficiency including data entry, word processing, email, and electronic record management.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain quality and safety standards and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, visitors, and vendors in a friendly, professional manner.
• Answer and route incoming calls; provide hospital telecommunications support.
• Facilitate patient flow from referral through admission promptly and accurately.
• Obtain and verify demographic and financial information for registration and billing.
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility as needed.
• Assist with obtaining and tracking prior authorizations when applicable.
• Enter charges into the hospital systems and maintain related records.
• Maintain records for communications, on-call schedules, and related activities.
• Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining communication and service quality.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and hospital policies.
• Support hospital mission and Guiding Principles in daily interactions.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support operations.
