  • Ensures maintenance and cleanliness of facility equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains a clean and organized kitchen and equipment.
  • Communicates kitchen/office equipment and supply needs to HR or Program Director.
  • Drives Dove/Twin Oaks vehicles as required by policy.
  • Provides emergency First Aid and CPR per American Red Cross standards if needed.
  • Conducts and practices emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Attends and participates in all required meetings and trainings.
  • Assumes other duties as directed for efficient program operations.

Description

The primary responsibility is always to Role Model appropriate behavior. The other responsibilities are to safely conduct the planning, preparation and serving of meals, while utilizing all health and hygiene practices to ensure that standards are met. The Food Service Worker should be acutely aware of the Dove Vocational Trauma Informed Practices and engage both staff and youth through the lens of trauma. The Food Service Worker’s paramount concern is to procure nutritious, safe, and healthy meals. Essential responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

Essential Functions:
  • Prepare and serve daily balanced, nutritious meals as outlined by the daily menu.
  • Prepares and/or plans meals for special events, (ex: trips, graduations, holidays, etc.)
  • Maintains production records, temperature logs, and monthly inventories according to policies, National School Lunch & Breakfast, HACCP and USDA.
  • Maintains cleanliness safe, secure working areas, and cold and dry storages while complying with USDA, Department of Health & Safety and state guidelines.
  • Assures maintenance and cleanliness of facility equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains a clean and organized kitchen and equipment.
  • Communicates the maintenance needs of the kitchen, office equipment and supply needs to the Human Resource Personnel and/or the Program Director.
  • Will drive Dove/Twin Oaks vehicles a required in accordance with program policy.
  • Will provide emergency First Aid and CPR in accordance with American Red Cross Standards if needed and/or required.
  • Conducts and practices emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Attends and participates in all required meetings and trainings.
  • Assumes other duties, responsibilities as directed or needed for efficient operations of the program.
Requirements
  • Current state driver’s license
  • Maintain a SafeServ Certification
  • Meet criminal background check and drug screening per state requirements.
  • One year of food service experience preferred and/or Food Service Vocational training
