Position Summary: A Patient Financial Counselor offers financial advice and assistance to patients regarding medical bills. They act as a liaison between patients and insurance companies, coordinate payments, and answer questions from both parties. They also educate patients about payment options and financial assistance.
Job Duties:
Qualifications:
Education: HS Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
Experience: Six months of hospital registration, billing, collections, financial counseling, or customer service experience preferred; knowledge of medical insurances (Medicare, HMOs, PPOs), EMTALA regulations, and hospital billing processes.
All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, per Philadelphia city regulations.
