Job summary

Ally Medical is seeking an ER Technician for the Emergency Department to assist the RN and Physician in patient care, performing delegated tasks within scope of practice. The role involves supporting diagnostic testing, vital signs, IV initiation, and efficient documentation.

The candidate should have 2 years of ER technician experience, CPR/BLS certification is required, and ACLS/PALS certifications are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience as an ER Technician.
• CPR/BLS Certification required.
• ACLS Certification encouraged.
• PALS Certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provides supportive care to patients under the direction of the RN in charge and/or physician.
• Performs patient skills such as taking height/weight, vital signs, IV initiation, blood draws, and documentation to assist the nurse and physician.
• Applies proper techniques for diagnostic testing using lab procedures.
• Reports lab results immediately to RN and/or Attending Physician.
• Assists RN and Attending Physician with assessments, examinations, and treatment.
• Monitors stock and restocks supplies as needed.
• May assist in front office duties such as registration, filing, shredding, scanning, data entry as required.
• Demonstrates ability to work as a multidisciplinary team member.

The ER Tech in the Emergency Department setting is responsible for assisting the RN and Physician with patient care, carrying out delegated tasks within their scope of practice.

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provides supportive care to the patients under the direction of the registered nurse in charge and/or physician.
• Performs patient skill sets such as taking height and weight measurements, vital signs, IV initiations, blood draws, documenting as needed to assist the nurse and physician with patient care.
• Applies proper techniques and practices while performing diagnostic testing using lab procedures.
• Reports lab results immediately to Registered Nurse and/or Attending Physician.
• Assists Registered Nurse and Attending Physician with assessments, examinations, and treatment.
• Monitors stock and restocks supplies as needed.
• May assist in various office duties such as front office registration activities, filing, shredding, scanning, data entry as needed or required by administration.
• Demonstrates ability to work effectively as a multidisciplinary team member; supports and assists team members in all activities.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of general principles of medicine as can be derived from an EMT or paramedic training program.
• Must maintain calm in stressful and chaotic situations.
• Basic Computer knowledge.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Education and Experience:

• Two (2) years experience as an ER Technician.
• CPR/BLS Certification required.
• ACLS Certification encouraged.
• PALS Certification encouraged.

Additional Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking and lifting.
