This PRN Emergency Room Registered Nurse position offers flexible scheduling in a dynamic emergency department setting. The role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients across a range of acuities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates bring a strong clinical foundation and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to ER patients
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and promptly identify changes in patient condition
Triage and prioritize patients based on acuity and established protocols
Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and other interventions as ordered
Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and other clinical indicators
Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and rapidly changing patient conditions
Assist physicians and other providers with emergency procedures and patient stabilization
Participate in resuscitation and other emergency response activities as appropriate
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals
Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records and nursing documentation
Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and quality-of-care standards
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of California
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Additional emergency nursing education or specialty training preferred
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification a plus
Additional Emergency Department or critical-care certifications welcomed
Previous Emergency Room or Emergency Department RN experience preferred
Acute-care nursing experience considered
Strong patient assessment and critical-thinking skills
Ability to prioritize care effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations
You hold a current California RN license with BLS. You have emergency department experience and strong assessment skills. You thrive in fast-paced ER settings and prioritize patient safety
