PRN Emergency Room RN provides flexible, high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced ER environment in Chester, California. The role offers up to $78/hr and focuses on comprehensive patient assessment, treatment, and education.
Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based care to ER patients.
Perform comprehensive assessments and promptly identify changes in patient condition.
Triage and prioritize patients based on acuity and established protocols.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and other interventions as ordered.
Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and other clinical indicators.
Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and rapidly changing patient conditions.
Assist physicians and other providers with emergency procedures and patient stabilization.
Participate in resuscitation and other emergency response activities as appropriate.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records and nursing documentation.
Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and quality-of-care standards.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of California.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred or required.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is a plus.
Additional Emergency Department or critical-care certifications are welcomed.
Previous Emergency Room or Emergency Department RN experience preferred.
Acute-care nursing experience may be considered.
Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Additional emergency nursing education or specialty training.
