Job summary

Memorial Hermann Texas International Endoscopy Center is seeking an Endoscopy Technician on a PRN basis to support sterile processing and scrub duties, ensuring readiness of instruments for procedures.

Responsibilities include sterilization, decontamination, instrument assembly, room turnover, and communication with surgeons and SPD staff to maintain efficient operations. Qualifications include a high school diploma and certification options; BLS required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Endoscopy Technician or Surgical Technology certificate/associate program preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • CRCST or CFER certification preferred, but not required.
  • Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
  • Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, maintained, and stored.
  • Assist surgical team by anticipating needs during procedures.
  • Maintain sterile technique and infection control policies.
  • Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of instruments.
  • Monitor sterilizer cycles and document quality assurance checks.
  • Support room turnover and restocking of surgical supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and SPD staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Follow all facility policies, safety regulations, and accreditation standards.

Memorial Hermann Texas International Endoscopy Center is a premier outpatient surgical facility dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a safe and efficient environment. Our center features 1 Operating Room and 3 Treatment Rooms, equipped with advanced technology that enables our surgeons to perform a variety of procedures in the specialty area of Gastroenterology. We are committed to excellence, innovation, and compassionate service for every patient we serve.

We are seeking a Endoscopy Technician with experience in both scrub tech duties and sterile processing to join our PRN team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about maintaining the highest standards of surgical support and instrument sterilization.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, maintained, and stored
  • Assist surgical team by anticipating needs during procedures
  • Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control policies
  • Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments
  • Monitor sterilizer cycles and document quality assurance checks
  • Support room turnover and restocking of surgical supplies
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and SPD staff to ensure seamless operations

Qualifications

  • Certification such as CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CFER (Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor) preferred, but not always required
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Required Experience
