Job Summary

Collaborates with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver patient care using the nursing process. Provides professional nursing care, including assessments, assisting with exams and treatments, patient education, and maintaining medical records.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor of Nursing preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Current Texas nursing license or temporary/compact license
• Certified in Basic Life Support
• Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• At least 2 years of clinical RN experience

Principal Accountabilities

• Provide safe, appropriate care tailored to the patient's age and needs.
• Coordinate nursing care planning with an interdisciplinary team and make appropriate clinical decisions.
• Collaborate, direct, and delegate tasks to the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes based on data, research, and standards of care.
• Develop and implement treatment, discharge, and transfer plans.
• Participate in continuous program evaluation and process improvements to meet patient-centered outcomes.
• Address the diverse needs of patients throughout their care continuum, ensuring high standards of service and optimizing patient experience.
• Follow all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
• Perform other duties within scope of practice and competency as assigned.
• Ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and standards within budget and resource constraints.
• Support professional growth through ongoing education and skills development; serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource for less experienced staff.
• Commit to compassionate, personalized care, modeling Memorial Hermann’s service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
