Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an EMT to perform nursing procedures and deliver immediate care to the critically ill and injured, including patients and employees of Giti Tire.

You will assess, stabilize, and prepare patients for transport, administer first aid or life support, and coordinate with EMS or police and fire departments. A valid SC EMT certification and BLS are required, with 12 scheduled hours weekly as a PRN employee.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• NREMT EMT or Advanced EMT Certification required.
• SC EMT Basic or Advanced Certification required.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess nature and extent of injury or illness to prioritize care.
• Administer first aid or life support as needed.
• Remain calm in stressful situations to plan care.
• Provide compassionate, accurate patient care.
• Document health information per clinic policy.
• Coordinate transport with EMS or police/fire as needed.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Check, restock, inventory, and clean equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure certifications and licenses are up to date.
