Job summary

Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide immediate patient care in our emergency department on a per diem basis.

You will perform basic life support, assess vital signs, assist in triage, document care in EMR, and collaborate with ER staff to ensure coordinated patient treatment.

Shift availability includes days; per diem scheduling allows you to support the ER as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires.
• Basic EMT Training or ER experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, immediate patient care by utilizing EMT training to administer basic life support, stabilize patients, and respond swiftly to medical emergencies in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Perform detailed patient assessments to evaluate vital signs, symptoms, and medical history, ensuring timely identification of urgent needs and accurate communication with the healthcare team
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to contribute to an integrated care approach, promoting continuity and efficiency in patient treatment plans
• Assist in triaging patients upon arrival by assessing the severity of their condition and supporting decisions on prioritization of care based on clinical protocols
• Maintain precise and thorough documentation of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR), supporting legal compliance and clinical continuity
• Inspect and manage emergency medical equipment and supplies to ensure optimal functionality, cleanliness, and availability, contributing to a safe and prepared emergency care environment
