Job summary

Johnston-Willis Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN EKG Tech to operate the EKG lab, prep patients, and assist with data collection in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date and a High School/GED. Weekend and holiday coverage is expected; the hospital offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities within a leading acute care network.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in operating and trouble-shooting equipment used in the EKG lab.
• Prep patients and apply holter monitors.
• Restocks work area with necessary supplies. Keeps work area and equipment clean and orderly to promote patient safety.
• Assists with compiling bi-weekly and monthly data.
• Respond to stat orders as received.
• Demonstrates proficiency in performing routine EKGs, Signal Averaged EKGs, Rhythm Strips, and EKGs with and without the magnet.
• Provides coverage for weekends and holidays.
• Executes departmental procedure for clerical processing of EKGs.
