Job summary

Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics in Iowa is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Emergency Room/Hospitalist team on a PRN basis.

You will provide comprehensive medical care across emergency and inpatient settings in a Critical Access Hospital environment, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to our rural community.

Qualifications

• MASTER'S degree in an applicable NP or PA program.
• Current Iowa ARNP or PA licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and ATLS certifications as required.
• Strong clinical assessment and emergency management skills.
• Ability to manage diverse patient populations from pediatric to geriatric.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care in the Emergency Department and Patient Care Unit, including observation and swing bed patients.
• Independently assess, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses/injuries within scope and privileges.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with diagnostic tests, meds, and interventions.
• Manage inpatient admissions, rounds, discharge planning, and care coordination.
• Respond to medical emergencies, including rapid responses and Code Blue.
• Collaborate with nursing, EMS, respiratory therapy, labs, radiology, and others.
• Utilize telehealth physician consultations and medical director support when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient safety and regulatory standards.

Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics (GMHC) is seeking a skilled, confident, and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Emergency Room/Hospitalist team on a PRN basis.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
