Job summary

Rutherford Regional Health System, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an Echocardiology Technician to provide high-quality imaging and patient care in a PRN capacity. You will review histories, educate patients on procedures, and operate imaging equipment in a safe, compliant manner.

Candidates should hold an Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and be registered (CCI/ARDMS) within a year. BLS is required, with Handle with Care training soon after hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
• Registered Cardiovascular Sonography (CCI/ARDMS) within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Handle with Care within 3 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician orders.
• Educates patient about procedures, equipment and exam.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes.
• Prepares equipment and supplies; selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Ensures safety standards and quality control on equipment; troubleshoots as needed.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures; analyzes results.
• Enters and reports scan results.
