Job summary

Avera Milbank Area Hospital is seeking a Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures with a focus on image quality and accuracy. You will operate equipment, prepare patient data for radiologists, and ensure compliance with safety and infection-control standards.

Hours are varied and PRN as needed; ARDMS certification or registry within 1 year of hire is required, with an associate degree or equivalent and vascular experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• ARDMS certification or equivalent registration at hire.
• New graduates must obtain initial ARDMS registry within 1 year.
• Vascular experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produces accurate and efficient clinical diagnostic ultrasound images as directed by providers and radiologists.
• Initiates proper intervention to radiologist or referring provider when test requires attention.
• Reviews indications for tests, contacting providers for more information when needed.
• Provides complete data for presentation to reading radiologist and makes hard copies as directed.
• Maintains department policies, safety and infection control standards.
• Assists with staff training and orientation.
• Assists with data collection and records in accordance with standards.
• Reconciles signed orders with performed exams in records.

Education
