Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital in Utah is seeking a CT Technologist or Specialty Tech in Training to support our CT team. The role may be filled at either level based on qualifications and experience.

This PRN position offers flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, with a strong emphasis on image quality, patient safety, and collaboration with radiologists and care teams.

Qualifications

  • ARRT Radiography Certification/Registration (RT)
  • State licensure where required
  • BLS for healthcare providers
  • ARRT CT Certification/Registration (RT CT)
  • Hands-on CT experience preferred
  • One or more years CT experience preferred
  • Must complete the controlled substance module where applicable
  • Must complete the initial moderate sedation module
  • Facility-specific certifications may be required

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT exams per department protocols with focus on image quality and patient safety
  • Verify patient identity and prepare patients for exams

Job Description

We are seeking either a CT Technologist or a Specialty Tech in Training to support our CT team at Riverton Hospital. This position may be filled at either level depending on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.

Candidate Types

We are open to:

  • Fully licensed CT Technologists
  • CT students currently enrolled in an accredited CT program
  • Candidates actively cross-training into CT who have completed the majority of their CT competencies and plan to take their CT registry exam within the next three months

Preference will be given to candidates with hands‑on CT experience through employment, clinical rotations, or cross‑training.

Schedule

This is a true PRN position with variable shifts. Team members will help cover open shifts as needed, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on department needs.

Minimum Qualifications (CT Technologist)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(RT)(R) Radiography Certification/Registration
  • Relevant State licensure (where required)
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Computed Tomography Certification/Registration (ARRT)(RT)(CT)
  • Hands‑on CT experience through employment, clinical rotations, or cross‑training preferred
  • One or more years of CT experience preferred (Where applicable)
  • Must complete the controlled substance module (Where applicable)
  • Must complete the initial moderate sedation module
  • Specific facility‑based certifications may also be required for this role
Preferred Qualifications (CT Technologist)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Computed Tomography Certification/Registration (ARRT)(RT)(CT)
  • Hands‑on CT experience through employment, clinical rotations, or cross‑training preferred
  • One or more years of CT experience preferred (Where applicable)
  • Must complete the controlled substance module (Where applicable)

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Applicable State License
  • An ARRT(R) technologist who:
    • Is currently attending and receiving formal training from an accredited training program
    • Has successfully completed formal training from an approved/accredited school
    • Has been selected to cross‑train into another modality
Preferred Qualifications (Specialty Tech in Training)
  • Completion of the majority of CT clinical competencies
  • Planning to sit for the CT registry exam within three months
  • CT clinical experience through school, externship, or cross‑training rotations
  • One to two years of customer service or patient care experience
  • IV Certification
Essential Functions

Perform CT exams according to department protocols while ensuring image quality and patient safety. Verify patient identity, prepare patients for exams, and provide patient education and support. Adhere to radiation safety, infection prevention, and quality standards. Operate CT equipment and related systems accurately and efficiently. Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate effectively with radiologists, technologists, students, and other caregivers.

Physical Requirements

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Location: Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital. Work City: Riverton. Work State: Utah. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0. The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $39.16 - $60.42
